Microelectronics Today: Exploring the ME Industry

In this mini unit, students explore the microelectronics industry through the lens of current events, workforce trends, and career opportunities. They analyze real-world topics such as the CHIPS Act, global supply challenges, and the importance of U.S. manufacturing to understand the industry’s impact on technology, the economy, and national security. Students also investigate a range of career pathways by examining job listings and required skills, culminating in discussions and presentations that build awareness of opportunities within the growing microelectronics workforce.

  • ME Career Connection: Students explore careers within the microelectronics industry by examining real-world roles, required skills, and workforce trends.
