Circuit Creators: From Microchips-Mini Skateparks

In this mini unit, students explore the fundamentals of microelectronics and how these systems function in everyday life. They build basic circuits to understand energy flow, then apply their learning using a micro:bit to identify components and practice coding with logic gates like “and” and “or.” The unit culminates in an engineering design challenge where students design a safe, functional skate park ramp, integrating concepts of circuits, coding, speed, and safety within real-world constraints.
