“Teaching microelectronics at the elementary level allows me to spark curiosity, confidence, and early interest in STEM careers that students may not otherwise imagine for themselves.”
Isabella Henderson is a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) teacher with eight years of experience in elementary education. She holds a degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in reading and teaching second-language learners, and currently teaches second grade in a DLI setting, supporting students in developing biliteracy in English and Spanish. Her instructional approach is grounded in research-based literacy practices and a strong commitment to equity and access for multilingual learners.
In addition to literacy instruction, Isabella is passionate about integrating STEM and microelectronics into the elementary classroom. She designs hands-on, project-based learning experiences that introduce young students to foundational concepts such as circuits, engineering design, and problem-solving, helping them make meaningful connections between classroom learning and real-world technology. Her work emphasizes early exposure to STEM careers and aims to broaden participation in microelectronics-related fields.
Outside the classroom, Isabella is a wife of seven years and the mother of two children. These experiences continue to shape her commitment to education, innovation, and lifelong learning.
