Novel Engineering
Novel Engineering uses classroom literature as the context for authentic engineering challenges, engaging students in STEM through the meaningful integration of engineering and literacy. As students read, they identify problems faced by characters and design creative, real-world solutions bringing stories to life through hands-on innovation. These teacher-created lessons are designed for classroom use and can also serve as inspiration for developing engineering connections with virtually any novel, helping educators spark curiosity, critical thinking, and cross-curricular learning.

Grade Levels: K-8
Time Required: Dependent upon length of the novel.
Engineering Design Project: Students determine who the client is from their novel and help that client to solve a problem using ME.
