How a Chip Is Born (Grades K-6)

This kit gives educators visual and physical representations of the steps involved in making and using microelectronics, from sand to a finished microelectronic device. The kit comes with an accompanying poster and educator guide. 

This version of the kit is geared towards Grades K-6. There is a version for Grades 6-12 found here.

The educator guide contains a description of everything included in a SCALE K-12 “How a Chip Is Born” kit. Use this resource to make your own kit or restock your existing one. This material can be used under the Creative Commons BY-NC-ND license. If you make your own kit, please give proper attribution by attaching the SCALE K-12 sticker to the kit.
